Help Desk Verification

Help Desk Verification is a way to ensure that a user in Evo is connected to their associated mobile device.

Evo Admins can use this to verify any sort of request that comes into their help desk. If an end user is calling in and needing support, Help Desk Verification can be used to ensure the person that is calling is actually who they say they are.

Evo portal admin can send a welcome email and then the user without secure login license can pair the mobile app using the provided link to the QR code.

With a paired app, Help Desk Verification will work as expected even if that user does not have secure login license.

Help Desk Verification only works for users that are using the Evo Secure Login (Version 5.0.5 or higher) app for authentication.

If interested in utilizing Help Desk Verification, you will need to contact your Evo Account Manager for more information.

Requirements

  • Users that want to use Help Desk Verification must have the Evo Secure Login app version at 5.0.5 or higher for both iOS and Android.
  • A user must already be set up within Evo via any directory sync method or manually added.
  • The user must already have set up their mobile device with Evo Secure Login.
  • The admin user requesting the verification has the Help Desk Verification role within Role-Based Permissions.

Requesting User Verification

If you want to verify a user, browse to the tenant of the user and select the user you want to verify.

As long as the permission is enabled, you'll see the User Verification selection option at the bottom of their profile.

Select the option to request verification.

A new screen will pop up and a push notification will be sent to their device.

The end user will see this on their device

Once approved, you'll see the notification on screen change.

If a user denies the verification request, the prompt will change accordingly.

If the app version is too old to support the request, that will also be shown on screen.
