MFA Enrollment

Enabling MFA for a user does not necessarily mean they have completed enrollment. Users may still need to install an authenticator app, register their device, or complete SMS setup.

The MFA enrollment tracking updates make it easier to identify users who still need to complete setup and send enrollment reminders when needed.

Enrollment Status

Users Page

Navigate to Identities > Users to view MFA enrollment progress.

The Authentication column replaces the previous MFA Status column and displays one of two statuses:

  • Enrolled — The user has successfully completed MFA enrollment.
  • Pending — The user has not completed enrollment.

Enrollment status is based on whether the user has actually completed the enrollment process. Simply sending a registration or welcome email does not change a user to Enrolled.

Users may also show as Enrolled via Microsoft Authenticator, synced automatically from Azure AD, no enrollment email needed.

The Authentication column can also be sorted and filtered.

The user search field now searches by name and email address.

User Details

A user's detail page displays:

  • Their current enrollment status
  • The authentication method they used to enroll

From Identities > Users, select multiple users to access the Send Email action.

Two enrollment options are available:

Welcome Email

Send a welcome email to selected users and optionally specify the MFA method they should be prompted to configure:

  • Evo Authenticator
  • SMS

SMS Setup

Send an SMS-specific enrollment email to selected users.

Link Expiration

For both email types, you can choose how long the enrollment link remains valid:

  • 12 hours
  • 24 hours
  • 2 days
  • 5 days
  • 1 week

After sending, the portal displays how many emails were successfully sent and how many failed.

MFA Enrollment Tracking in Email Campaigns

Notion image

MFA enrollment progress is also available for users included in an Email Campaign.

Each campaign displays an overview of the group's MFA enrollment progress.

Selecting a campaign opens a drawer containing each user and the following sortable and filterable columns:

  • Enrollment
  • Method
  • Enabled

The search field can be used to find users by name or email address.

Sending Enrollment Reminders

Two reminder options are available:

Remind pending

Sends a reminder to everyone in the campaign who has not completed MFA enrollment.

Remind selected

Sends a reminder only to the users you select.

Reminder emails include a password reset link to help users complete the enrollment process.

Note: Users can receive a maximum of three password-reset reminders per hour. If a user has reached this limit, the portal will indicate that before sending. After sending, the results will show how many reminders were sent and how many were skipped.

Campaign Template Editor

The Email Campaign template editor now includes the same customization options available in the Custom Templates editor:

  • Variables dropdown
  • Insert Logo button

These options can be used to personalize campaign emails and include your tenant logo. To see a full list of variables check out Customization Hub
