Notifications

Overview

The Notifications system helps keep users and administrators informed about important events occurring within their Evo environment. Notifications can be delivered through multiple channels, ensuring the right people receive timely information about security events, administrative actions, billing updates, and more.

Administrators have full control over how notifications are delivered, who receives them, and when they are sent.

Notification Channels

Depending on your organization's configuration and your notification preferences, notifications can be delivered through one or more of the following channels:

Channel
Description
Portal
Displays within the Evo Portal notification inbox.
Email
Sends the notification to the user's email address.
Push
Sends a push notification to a registered Evo mobile device.
SMS
Sends a text message for supported security notifications (when enabled).

Some notification events can also automatically create a PSA ticket for your team's ticketing system when supported and configured.

Portal Notification Inbox

The Portal Notification Inbox provides a centralized location to view notifications delivered through the Portal channel.

Within the inbox you can:

  • View your most recent notifications
  • See notification titles and additional details
  • View notification severity
  • Identify related objects such as tenants, users, or elevation requests
  • Open notifications to take action
  • Dismiss notifications you no longer need

Notifications are displayed in chronological order, with the newest notifications appearing first.

Once dismissed, notifications are removed from your inbox.

Notification Severity

Notifications are categorized by severity to help prioritize important events.

High
Important events that should be reviewed promptly.
Critical

Viewing All Notifications

Selecting See All Notifications opens the Notification List page.

The Notification List provides a more detailed view of your notification history, allowing you to:

  • Search notifications
  • Review historical events
  • View additional event details
  • Filter and locate specific notifications more easily

This view is ideal for reviewing previous activity or investigating alerts.

Opening a Notification

Many notifications include direct links to the affected object or event.

Depending on the notification type, selecting a notification may open:

  • A user
  • An Elevation Request
  • A tenant
  • Or Another Record

This allows administrators and users to quickly investigate and respond without manually locating the affected item.

Notification Categories

Notifications are organized into categories based on the type of event.

  • License usage warnings
  • Billing or payment issues
  • Subscription changes
  • Invoice events
  • Credit card expiration reminders

  • Login attempts from restricted countries
  • Impossible travel detection

Administrators can customize notification delivery for each supported notification type.

Notion image

Configuration options determine:

  • Who receives notifications
  • Which delivery channels are used
  • Which tenants the rules apply to
  • When notifications are delivered
Notion image

Delivery Rules

For each notification type, administrators can configure:

Channels

Select one or more supported delivery methods:

  • Portal
  • Email
  • Push Notifications
  • SMS (where supported)

Recipients

Notifications can be delivered to:

  • Individual users
  • User groups
  • Roles
  • Role groups
  • External email addresses

Tenants

Rules may apply to:

  • All tenants
  • Specific selected tenants

Schedule

Optional schedules allow notifications to be delivered only during specified days and local business hours.

For example, non-critical notifications can be restricted to weekdays during business hours while critical security alerts remain available at all times.

Note: Removing all notification rule configurations will default back to the current delivery defaults until new configurations are provided.

PSA Ticket Creation

For supported notification types, administrators can enable automatic PSA ticket creation.

When enabled, Evo will create a ticket in the configured PSA platform in addition to sending notifications through the selected delivery channels.

This feature requires a supported PSA integration to be configured.

Environment Defaults

Some notification types include additional environment-wide settings that determine when notifications are generated.

Notion image

Examples include:

  • License usage warning thresholds
  • Credit card expiration reminder timing
  • SAML certificate expiration warning periods
  • High-frequency login detection sensitivity

These settings help administrators fine-tune notification behavior to meet their organization's operational requirements.

Best Practices

  • Configure multiple notification channels for critical security events.
  • Review notification delivery rules regularly to ensure the correct administrators receive alerts.
  • Enable PSA ticket creation for operational events that require tracking.
  • Use schedules to reduce after-hours notifications for non-critical events while ensuring critical alerts remain immediate.
  • Periodically review notification history to identify recurring issues or trends.
