How to use Offline codes to login to Windows machine without Internet – Evo Security

Our Evo Secure Login Mobile App allows users to access an offline code when their secured device, such as a laptop or desktop using the Evo Credential Provider, does not have internet access.

Offline codes rotate every 2 weeks. The previously generated offline code remains available for offline authentication for up to 4 weeks. If the device remains offline beyond that period, it must reconnect to the internet before offline authentication can continue.

NOTE: Offline codes are only used with Secure Login. Offline codes cannot be used for Elevated Access, as elevation requires an internet connection.

For LDAP Directories - Use the Domain username when signing in to retrieve the appropriate offline code.

For Azure Directories - Use the full email address when signing in to retrieve the appropriate offline code.

For Workgroup Directories - Use the local account username when signing in to retrieve the appropriate offline code.

Offline authentication is available only after the user has successfully signed in to the PC using Evo Secure Login while the device was online.

If the device later loses internet connectivity, the Offline option will become available at sign-in and the user can enter the offline code from the Evo Secure Login Mobile App.

Offline codes rotate every 2 weeks, with the previous code remaining valid for up to 4 weeks of offline use.

If the device has been offline for more than 4 weeks, it must reconnect to the internet to refresh its authentication data before offline login can be used again.

Then the Offline option will pop up for the user can enter offline code, like the photos below.

2. If a user never signed in before, it would pop up an error message. So, offline code will not work for this user.

To access your offline codes:

1. On your Evo Mobile App, Click Settings on the bottom right.

2. Clicking this screen will reveal detailed information about the app. You will notice the "offline codes" button. Click there:

3. After clicking there, you will be presented with your security questions. Answer those questions accordingly:

4. After answering those security questions, you'll be presented with a list of your Evo keys/accounts.

5. Select one of these accounts, and your offline code is revealed!
